Routine travel may proceed

Routine business travel may proceed to Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, and established business districts in Cali and Barranquilla with pre-arranged transport and standard urban security controls. These cities remain open, but the required controls differ by neighborhood and movement.

Modify affected itineraries

On 16 July, confirm city and airport-transfer routes with the assigned driver before departure because Virgen del Carmen caravans can produce rolling restrictions near transport terminals, churches, and principal avenues. Change plans that depend on central Bogotá on 20 July or long road movements in eastern and northeastern Colombia. Keep meetings and airport transfers away from Bogotá's historic center and Centro Internacional after 10:00 a.m. Fly between major cities where practical and verify road status on the day of movement.

Do not approve routine travel

Do not approve routine travel to Tibú or rural Catatumbo in northeastern Norte de Santander along the Venezuela border. The planned Cúcuta–Tibú air-service resumption did not occur following the airport attack, and the road from Cúcuta is not a suitable fallback for normal corporate travel.

Route-specific approval required

Require separate approval for field travel in southern Bolívar, Pacific Cauca including López de Micay, Arauca department, and interior Chocó. Plans should identify approved transport and local support, a daylight movement window, communications and check-ins, a receiving contact, medical and evacuation support, and clear turn-back criteria.
